Our Trip to Oz!

Today we decided to take a day trip to Wamego, KS to check out the Oz Museum. You have to visit the Oz Museum if you live in Kansas, right? The outside looked much different than I had pictured it - very un"museum-like" (is that a word?). It's a very small museum but has lots of neat stuff to look at! Sam really liked looking at all of the life size Wizard of Oz characters! Afterwards we had lunch at Todo's Tacoz :-) I think Craig enjoyed this part of our day the most!

Happy Halloween!

We had a great Halloween with Sam this year! Obviously he's too young to go out trick-or-treating, so we sat outside with our neighbors and handed out candy together. We had a good crowd this year and thankfully we didn't run out of candy! After the trick-or-treating ended we all headed out to the neighborhood Halloween Party :-)

Our Little Owl and His Pumpkin!

Of course we had to buy Sam the biggest pumpkin we could find for his 1st Halloween :-) We actually don't know the exact weight since the scale at the pumpkin patch would not read anything over 30 lbs. I'm guessing it's about a 35 lb. pumpkin but all that really matters is that Sam loves it! He climbs right up the side and uses the top to balance. This weekend we took pictures of our little owl with his very first pumpkin - too cute!

My 1st Swing!

Today we took advantage of the beautiful fall weather and took Sam out for his 1st swing at our neighborhood playground :-) He looked a little confused when Craig first put him in the swing, but once he got going he LOVED it!! We've decided that this needs to be a daily activity for Sam while the weather is still nice!

Sleepy Head!

I have to be very honest and say that Sam has always been a very good sleeper. Once he reached about 3 months he was sleeping through the night, about 7-8 hours...a dream come true after those MANY middle of the night feedings. Over the last few months Sam has grown to be quite the sleeper because he is now averaging 10-12 hours a night. Last night he broke his record for the 2nd time and made it to 13 hours!!! The moment he came out of his crib Sam made it very clear to Craig and I that play time would have to wait because it was time to eat breakfast IMMEDIATELY!

A Visit to the Rolling Hills Zoo!

We thought it would be fun to take another zoo trip while the weather is still nice :-) This time we visited the Rolling Hills Zoo in Salina, KS. We had great time and saw some really neat animals! Although, Sam seemed to be more interested in people watching than animal watching. It was also Pumpkin Pa-ZOO-la day at the zoo so Sam brought home a free pumpkin :-)

Sam is really beginning to show how attached he is to us lately. I am noticing more and more how excited he is when Craig comes home from work. He giggles and bounces in my arms waiting for Craig to take him. Craig definitely has the role of the "fun parent" since almost all of his time with Sam is spent playing :-) Sam adores him!
